Join us

Brisbane Progressive Jewish Congregation (BPJC) is Brisbane’s youngest Jewish congregation – we started in January 2007 – and we invite you to join us.

BPJC offers a program of Jewish services and activities throughout the year. We are fortunate to have the services of an Advisory Rabbi from Adelaide (Rabbi Shoshana Kaminsky). BPJC operates a successful Cheder, with our graduates going on to Bar or Bat Mitzvah. We often undertake shared activities with the wider Brisbane Jewish community, and have a special relationship with our sister congregation, Temple Shalom Gold Coast.

BPJC is affiliated to the Union for Progressive Judaism as well as to local organisations such as the Queensland Jewish Board of Deputies, State Zionist Council and Queensland Jewish Community Services. Our members are active in a wide range of local Jewish organisations, such as Maccabi, the Jewish National Fund, Community Security Group, National Council of Jewish Women and Brisbane Chevra Kadisha. In short, we offer you and your family a Jewish environment in a vibrant congregation.

We would love to hear from you – and help meet your Jewish religious, educational and social needs in BPJC’s environment, which others tell us is welcoming, friendly and caring.

Our application form can be printed out and filled in by hand, or completed at your computer if you prefer. Here’s how to do it -

If you have the ability to save PDF documents to your computer:
- open the form from the link above
- save a copy on your local computer by clicking on the disk icon (at the top left hand corner of the form) and choosing a location and file name for it
- fill in the form, saving regularly as you go – use “tab” to get from field to field
- when you have finished,  save the completed form, print it out, sign it (and the Yahrzeit form if you are including one), attach the relevant paperwork and send everything by post to The Hon Secretary, BPJC, P O Box 799, Indooroopilly Centre Qld 4068.

If you are unable to save PDF documents to your computer (it will say this at the top of the form when you open it, or bring up a popup box saying this):
Option 1 – Fill in the form on your computer and when you have finished, print it out, sign it (and the Yahrzeit form if you are including one), attach the relevant paperwork and send everything by post to The Hon Secretary, BPJC, P O Box 799, Indooroopilly Centre Qld 4068. As you cannot save the document, be careful not to close your browser window while you are filling it in, or you will lose what you have completed.
