Cheder is held at the hall at Kenmore. Dates are as shown in the calendar. For 2016, Cheder will run every fortnight. Any changes to the timetable will be advised well in advance. Please be very quiet when dropping your children off to cheder so as not to disturb the people in their service in the church alongside the Cheder hall.

We have a range of experienced teachers ready to work with your children on Hebrew, Jewish religious studies and history. Classes and social activities will help children mix and get to know each other during the Cheder. We are very excited about our Cheder program and look forward to working with your children in a professional learning environment. Our Cheder includes educational programs for children under 6 years of age (see next paragraph).

Cheder for preschoolers

Cheder for preschoolers is a fun opportunity for children, ages 3-5, to socialise with other Jewish children their age and learn about Jewish bible stories, holidays and the Hebrew alphabet.  Each session is full of exciting activities such as crafts, games, music, stories, play time, and of course morning tea.   Cheder for preschoolers is a terrific opportunity for young children to have fun while learning about being Jewish.

Please contact our Cheder Director for more information about all our Cheder programs.
