The next Cheder will be on Sunday 26 May 2013 starting at 9.30 am. New kids always welcome – please contact the Secretary at email@example.com if you would like to enrol, or just come along.
Cheder is held at Gan Gani Kindergarten, 691-695 Fig Tree Pocket Rd, Fig Tree Pocket 4069. Dates are as shown in the calendar. For 2013, Cheder will run every fortnight, with the exception of Sunday 15 September when there will be no Cheder due to the High Holidays. Any changes to the timetable will be advised well in advance.
We are delighted that Gan Gani Kindergarten, Queensland’s only Jewish Kindergarten, has agreed to let us use their purpose-built premises for the Cheder. Fig Tree Pocket is quite easy to access off the Western Freeway.
We have a range of experienced teachers ready to work with your children on Hebrew, Jewish religious studies and history. Classes and social activities will help children mix and get to know each other during the Cheder. We are very excited about our Cheder program and look forward to working with your children in a professional learning environment. Our Cheder includes educational programs for children under 6 years of age (see next paragraph).
Cheder for preschoolers
Cheder for preschoolers is a fun opportunity for children, ages 3-5, to socialise with other Jewish children their age and learn about Jewish bible stories, holidays and the Hebrew alphabet. Each session is full of exciting activities such as crafts, games, music, stories, play time, and of course morning tea. Cheder for preschoolers is a terrific opportunity for young children to have fun while learning about being Jewish.
